Established back in 1998, Lunarpages operates three state-of-the-art data centers. Equipped with multiple GigE fiber connections to the internet backbone, the company built out seismically-braced racks and cabinets, fully-redundant Liebert HVAC cooling systems, a diesel generator that can run for weeks, and a pre-action dry pipe fire suppression system.
Email authentication can be performed through cPanel via DomainKeys and Sender Policy Framework (SPF). DomainKeys checks incoming email against the server it was sent from to verify that the email was not modified and is actually from the listed sender. DomainKeys also makes it easier to track abusive email messages. SPF specifies what machines are allowed to send email from your domain. Only the email sent via the specified server(s) will appear as valid through SPF records when messages are sent.
Another answer is to have a dedicated server or virtual private server with a dedicated IP address or two. But even there, be careful. The last time I went that route the IP address the vendor assigned us had been used by a spammer and I had a few days of jumping through hoops to get us de-blacklisted. You may want to look up the IP address at mxtoolbox before you go live!
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server owned or leased for use by clients, as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for other servers located in their data center, called colocation, also known as Housing in Latin America or France.
Having used the CPanel DNS editor in both VPS and shared hosting situations, I’m not a fan. I’d rather have my registrar also handle my DNS services. This makes it easier to point to different hosting services for each service without the concern that if your web hosting goes down, everything goes down. DNS is a highly distributed database, so if your DNS server goes down, chances are it will be hours before anyone knows.
Moving to another website consists of transferring the website’s files and databases, configuring your site with the new host, and directing your domain’s DNS to the new host. Once you pick a new site host, they can usually help you out with this process. The cost will depend on the host you’re switching to, but it can range anywhere from $150-$400.
